The Hayward Costume Relay has a unique opportunity for select participants! We are partnering with Track Town USA and RunnersSpace to deliver a content series leading up to the race. Nine groups will be documented during their frivolous “training” in their pursuit of glory. Racers will have a chance to be coached by Oregon’s Track and Field athletes. Channel your inner reality TV star and lace up your running shoes; it’s time to shine. Must be available Week 2 of Spring term for filming!

What is the event?
Run Hayward is a unique opportunity for Oregon students to experience what it is like to run on the iconic Hayward Field. Teams of four will compete in a 4x100m relay during Oregon’s Twilight Meet, but here’s the catch- you MUST be wearing a costume! Teams will dress up in their finest attire, whether that’s a banana, koala, toga… really anything you can dress up in works!
How do I sign up?
You can find the form to sign up linked above. You must be a group of four. Only one person needs to submit, however, each racer’s 95# is required. This will grant you a spot, but there is only room for 24 teams, so sign up now!
Am I qualified?
You do NOT have to be a track star to participate! Goofiness and imperfection are encouraged and make the race even more fun!
What is the difference between the content series and the race itself?
All 24 teams will participate in the relay. We will hold multiple heats. Nine of these 24 teams will get the opportunity to be featured in a content series hosted by TrackTown USA and RunnersSpace a few weeks BEFORE the race. Teams can indicate if they want to sign up for the content series on the sign-up form above.
When and where is the event?
